This Can't Be Happening became a news collective around May 1st, 2010, it is located at www.thiscantbehappening.net. Join one our favorite RFK guests, award winning investigative journalist Dave Lindorff, known among many listeners, as he and his co-conspirators come on the show. This program originally aired May 8th, 2010 on our popular Saturday High Noon segment. From the announcement at the remodeled This Can't Be Happening site: "While all four of us will be reporting on the stories that we as individuals find important, each one of us is taking on a certain beat. John [Grant], a Vietnam War veteran, accomplished journalist, photographer and filmmaker, will have the war & peace beat. Dave [Lindorff], who studied business and economics journalism at Columbia U. as a Knight-Bagehot Fellow, will be reporting on national politics, economics and healthcare, Linn [Washington], a veteran Philadelphia journalist, will cover the courts and the law and also race issues, and Chuck [Young] will cover culture and what he rather mysteriously calls the âChuckâ beat. ..." Callers and listeners are in for a treat as the writers fill up the live call-in switchboard and offer individual insights into the state of new journalism in today's 21st century newsrooms. Musical credit to The Bottle Rockets, Graham Parker, free mp3 available at Bloodshot Records, Chicago. The opening title rendition of "Big Rock Candy Mountain" was performed by Lawrence, Ks. musician Frank Prophet with kind permission from frankprophet.com The rooster crows were real, as well as the bottle rocket explosions heard from our farm in celebration of the formation of the news collective.
